School term started this week. After few weeks of easy life, it was really tough to get my engine started again. I am assigned three classes of year 1 to teach. My teaching days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Sianz man...i rather siong siong three days consecutively and then relac for the next two days. Sigh...wat to do?
Started my first class on a very jittery note. i came well prepared with notes on how to mark attendance, how to publish problem, worksheets and resources. My notes were so structured. After this step, what must i do etc. I had a first day buddy too (sounds like some primary one student hor? except that I am actually the teacher). He said i was too focused on completing my task that i became too mechanical and cautious during the first meeting (Oh, the class is structured in such a way that we have 3 meetings, 2 breakout sessions). So for the second meeting, I threw away my prepared notes and just go with the flow. It was much better.
Second class started off on a good note. Students were responsive and we had a good session. Third class was almost mechanical already. But asking questions to facilitate their understanding was tough.

My office retreat
Day 1
Last Monday, we had a 2D retreat for my centre. The first day was at Pulau Ubin. Check out those pics. It was a wet but fun day.
